Technics SL-1210GAE 55th Anniversary Limited Edition
Technics releases the SL-1210GAE Limited Edition direct drive turntable to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the Technics brand.
This special model is based on the internationally acclaimed Grand Class SL-1200G hi-fi turntable and features an all-black color scheme, which has already proven popular with other recent Technics products.
The SL-1210GAE will be available from June 2020 and is limited to only 1210 units sold in the world.
Special and Exclusive Specifications of the SL-1210GAE 55th Anniversary Model
1. Full black color scheme
The SL-1210GAE's 10mm aluminum top panel has a carefully anodized black brushed finish.
In addition, the control knobs and tonearm also have a high-quality black finish resulting in a uniform, premium look.
2. Special badge with a serial number
The SL-1210GAE is made entirely in Japan by skilled artisans, using a large number of handcrafted processes to ensure the highest possible quality.
The top panel features a special badge, with the unique serial number to indicate that it is a 55th anniversary model.
3. Insulator
The specially developed zinc insulator features αGEL™,
a soft gel-like material with excellent shock absorbing properties that is also used on the acclaimed 'flagship' SL-1000R reference turntable.
The high-density die-cast zinc housing offers excellent vibration damping properties and excellent long-term reliability.
The new isolator effectively isolates the turntable from external vibrations, ensures completely undisturbed music reproduction and preserves all the fine nuances and details within the musical signal.
4. Strobe ON-OFF Switch
Turning off the strobe lighting allows the listener to focus more on the music, especially in a dimmed environment.
5. Nagaoka JT-1210 Special Edition MM cartridge
In developing the SL-1210GAE, Technics collaborated with Nagaoka,
A highly respected manufacturer with a worldwide reputation for record needles and pickup systems.
Nagaoka boasts leading-edge microfabrication technologies for difficult-to-cut materials and is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.
The SL-1210GAE comes with the Moving Magnet (MM) type JT-1210 element that has been specially tuned by a joint team of engineers from Technics and Nagaoka.
Utilizing a boron cantilever, the JT-1210 has been specially tuned and designed to provide superior performance in focus and detail compared to other Moving Magnet cartridges.
It is only available in conjunction with the SL-1210GAE turntable.
The unparalleled sound capabilities of the JT-1210 cartridge and SL-1210GAE Direct Drive turntable make this full limited edition package even more valuable and desirable.

ALBEPRO Tonearm Setup
For the overhang we have opted for the Baerwal geometry, see photos.
For this we used the Dr. Feickert Analogue Protractor.
We would like to take care of the complete setup of the tonearm and mounting Nagaoka JT-1210 cartridge for you.
While enjoying a cup of Lavazza coffee, we will explain the entire setup so that you can check the adjustment yourself.
Unfortunately it is not possible to perform the setup and then pack the turntable in its original box, a visit to ALBEPRO is necessary for this.
