Features of the Technics SL-1200MK4
The Technics SL-1200MK4 was released in very limited numbers, exclusively in Japan.
What makes the MK4 special is that it features a 78 RPM function and is a true HiFi turntable, which makes the MK4 very rare and unique!
It has a fantastic tonearm, in titanium color, high-end tonearm cabling directly to the RCA terminal, a hydraulic tonearm lift with a perfectly functioning lift. The stylus tip and cantilever of the cartridge gently touch the vinyl’s surface with unprecedented softness.
The color scheme and printing on the MK4 are not found on any other Technics turntable.
The MK4 has gold-plated RCA connectors on the bottom (see photos), including a gold-plated ground connection, which are directly connected to the tonearm cabling—no other SL-1200 from the Legend Series (pre-2010) has this!
Since the introduction of the new generation of turntables, Technics has adopted these RCA terminals for their high-end models like the SL-1200G, SL-1210G, and the Reference Class SL-1000R.
The MK4 titanium-colored headshell is one of the accessories included.

The color scheme of the tonearm, for example, is different from previous production models. We also know from experience that internally, this player has undergone various mechanical and electronic changes compared to earlier production models.

The Technics SL-1200MK4 was only released in a 100V AC version in Japan.
