Technics SP-10MK3 Direct Drive Turntable System from "Japan"
NOS New Old Stock unused a very rare example from the High-End series of Technics.
Also called the holy-grail among turntable systems with a total weight of 30kg including packaging and accessories
This is a Japanese model with a voltage of 100V AC
(for this product you need a separate AC 230V to AC 100V converter)
In 1981 Technics went one step further in designing the perfect turntable.
The Technics SP-10MK3 was introduced.
This turntable system still ranks among the best in its class and is praised worldwide.
It has a turntable consisting of a copper alloy inner part and an aluminum outer part and weighs 10 kg.
The turntable system itself weighs 18 kg.
The SP-10MK3 has a separate controller with complex electronic circuitry to control the speeds and constancy of rotation of the heavy turntable.
The turntable has a starting torque of 16 kg/cm-2, almost three times the value of the SP-10MK2.
Variable speed
The advantage of the MK3 is not only the virtually immeasurable wow and flutter, but the fact that now all speeds can be adjusted in 0.1% increments up to +/- 9%, making this unit ideal also for the transfer of all records, including all types of shellac records.
The SP-10MK3 comes with a softer turntable mat compared to the mat on the SP-10MK2 which is harder.

Open motor
The newer generation of Technics turntables introduced in the late 1970s and early 1980s no longer have an enclosed motor compartment.
Now the stator with the green coils (core) is attached to the plinth/chassis.
The bearing housing of the spindle is attached in the center.
The support disc on top of the spindle is actually very small.
This "simpler" construction method was used in the Technics SP-10MK3 design.
Heavy turntable
The turntable of the SP-10MK3 consists of an aluminum base with a copper platform on top and has a total weight of 10 kg.
The aluminum platform is connected directly to the spindle.
The copper top plateau is connected to the aluminum plateau with four screws.
Before lifting the turntable, the small centering disc must be removed using special tools.
Both the special tool, brackets, centering disc, screws and washers for mounting on a housing are all included.
