Nagaoka MP-100H

Nagaoka MP-100 turntable cartridge mounted on a Nagaoka headshell
Powerful entry-level model with a natural sound field.
The MP-100 has a lightweight aluminum cantilever with a bonded spherical cut diamond needle.
With an average stylus pressure of 1.8 grams, the MP-100 is excellent for older vinyl records. Scratches and dirt do not detract from the pleasant, neutral sound image that the MP-100 reproduces.
Nagaoka MP (Moving Permalloy) series elements
Nagaoka "MP" series cartridges belong to the Moving Iron (MI) family and have interchangeable needles.
In the body (right above the needle carrier) is a relatively large, stationary Samarium-Cobalt magnet.
The cantilever is not provided with a magnet (as is the case with standard MM elements) but made of an alloy with a very high magnetic conductivity.
Thanks to this construction, the MPs have a low tip mass, an improved dynamic behavior and an efficient generator.
The current generation Nagaoka MP (Moving Permalloy) series scanners have a Carbon Fiber reinforced mounting bar and an extra strong Samarium-Cobalt magnet.
